Soccer Drills - Dribble Across A Square™
The Dribble Across A Square™ soccer drill is for soccer players ages 7 and older (U8, U10, U12, U14 to Adult). Definitely try this. This game is a great warm up and the best way to teach soccer control dribbling, turning with the ball and how to "Breakaway". It is easy to make the square larger so players learn how to recognize Open Space and to "Breakaway". This game teaches players to look up while dribbling (you will never have to say "look up" because they will have to look up to avoid running into each other. It also teaches instinctive reactions and confidence with the ball. This game has a 100% ball ratio (every player has a ball). Easy set up and it can be played 4 times in about 12 minutes. This game looks "chaotic", but that is good! Real soccer matches are chaotic and this game teaches instinctive reactions in chaotic game conditions. You will see results after 2 practices.
